Today’s Catholic Truth: Catholics Worship the Trinity

Catholics worship the Trinity

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three divine beings who are one divine God.

Jesus is our Lord and Savior!

This belief is upheld by Jesus in Mathew 28:19: Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (www.drbo.org)

The word Trinity does not appear in the Bible. It is a word that was devised by the Catholic Church, first seen in the writings of Theophilus of Antioch around A.D. 180 to describe the unity of three persons in one God.

I have added to and erased five different areas in which this one teaching could take this post, but I have decided I don’t want to confuse any of the points I’m trying to make. Therefore the importance of the Trinity and the false notion that we worship Mary and/or idols will be dispelled in following posts.

Blessings,

Michelle

I am a wife, a mother, a novelist, and Catholic. The Catholic part is important because that's what this blog is about. I've lived in the south deep into three decades, and I've grown weary of fundamentalists claiming I'm going to hell for being Catholic, so I've set out not to convert those who tend to attack me, my family and my faith, but rather to set the word straight on exactly what Catholics believe. Welcome to Catholic Truths.
